March 2013 has been recorded as the coldest March since 1962, and the 2nd coldest March since records began in 1910, with an average temperature of just 2.4 Celsius!
Due to our forever changing climate, March 2013 was actually colder than the December, January and February that came before it, making for a longer Winter than we’re used to. 2013 is the first time this has happened since 1975, but it just goes to show how unpredictable our climate can be in the UK.
